First Grade Happenings
December 18, 2015
Reading
Math
We identified the main topic and key
details in a photograph title “Tug of War.”
We also read informational texts, including
a Time For Kids article and an e-book
titled Wheels.
We continued to work on strategies to
solve addition and subtraction equations.
We also solved story problems.
Writing
Science
We wrote our opinion about which type of
recess is better– indoor or outdoor. Students
supported their opinion with facts for their
chosen recess.
We also added inflectional endings to verbs to
convey past and present.
We began our study of magnets. We described the effects of magnets on objects.
We also predicted, tested, and described
the effects of magnets on objects.
Social Studies
We defined the words past and present.
HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT
An Events from the Past Homework
Assignment went home on Monday.
It will be due Wednesday, January 6.
