First Grade Happenings
October 30, 2015
Reading
Math
We continued reading informational texts.
We asked and answered questions. We also determined the meaning of words. We
read Fins, Wings, and Legs and
A Mighty Oak Tree.
We continued to collect, organize,
represent, and interpret data in various
graphs. We made pictographs and bar graphs.
Writing
Science
We continued to write informative texts
about a given topic.
We also wrote an opinion piece that names
our opinion and supplies a reason for the
opinion.
We discussed how animals use their body
parts to survive. We also learned that all
living things are made of parts.
Social Studies/Health
Other
We identified and discussed the meanings
of common United States symbols.
We also learned about how to keep our
bodies healthy and safe during
Red Ribbon Week.

There is no school on Monday, November 2!
