First Grade Happenings
October 9, 2015
Reading
Math
We began reading informational texts.
We asked and answered questions about
George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.
We also identified some text features in
informative texts.
This week we identified ways to make
different numbers and wrote equations
with symbols. We also began to solve story
problems.
Writing
Science
We wrote informative texts about
different leaders.
We began to gather information about a
past leader in a shared research and
writing project.
We discussed how humans meet their
basic need for food.
We identified and described the physical
features of plants needed for survival.
Social Studies
Other
We described the contributions of
Abraham Lincoln and George Washington.
We explained how their contributions are
recognized by holidays and celebrations.
