Week of September 25th

First Grade Happenings
September 25, 2015
Reading
Math
We read Chestnut Pudding.
We asked and answered questions using
key details. We described the major
events in the story by dramatizing the
boy’s quest for chestnuts.
This week we represented and compared
2-digit numbers based on the meanings
of the tens and ones digits.
We also identified numbers as ten more
and ten less than a given number,
Writing
Science
We completed our Day in First Grade writings by adding a detailed drawing to clarify
our ideas.
We also sorted proper nouns and
common nouns.
We gathered information that humans and
other animals use different body parts to
seek, find, and take in food.
Social Studies
Other
We identified how rights and
responsibilities might be used to solve a
problem.
Volunteer Trainings are happening now!
If you would like to sign up to volunteer in a
classroom, these trainings are mandatory.
Please contact Michelle Fox to sign up for
training if you haven't already done so.
