Physical Education Curriculum
●
The goal of Pre K-12 physical education is to help students become
responsible citizens who are both physically educated and health
literate.
●
Each student will set and achieve personally challenging goals in physical
activity, apply higher order thinking skills to human movement, and
design personal movement and fitness plans. Students will be able to
display the skills and practices of a physically active lifestyle, knowing
the benefits of their choices to be involved in physical activity. They will
be physically fit and have a mindset that values physical activity and its
benefits in sustaining healthy lifestyles.
P.E. Class
● In order to participate safely in P.E., students must
wear tennis shoes, comfortable clothing and no
dangling jewelry
● Assessments are based on:
○ Movement Skills and Concepts
○ Health-Enhancing Physical Fitness and Activity
○ Personal and Social Responsibility
Media Center

The Media Center is open daily from 9:25-3:50
All students will visit the Media Center once a week with their class.
Book checkout - all students may check out 1-3 books (depending on their
grade) for up to 2 weeks
○ Overdue books - students cannot check out new books until they
return their old ones
■ Overdue notices will be distributed to classroom teachers at
least once a month.
○ Renewal - all materials can be renewed unless the material is on
hold for another patron.
○ Lost or damaged books must be paid for
○ Parent volunteers

Art Curriculum & Visual Literacy
● The effects of the art program do not end in the
classroom but extend into the personal and academic
