Highlights and events!!!
Remember to check Wednesday Folders and Student Planners!
End of Year Parent Planning Meeting is May 12th @ 4:15 in the Media Center.
5th grade Promotion Ceremony date has BEEN CHANGED. The new date is June
16th 10-11:30.
Please begin submitting your $25 Fifth Grade Activity Fee (fee includes bowling
trip, t shirt, pizza & movie day).
Please review and submit ALL permission slips as they relate to end of year
activities in a timely manner!
As we begin the fourth quarter, students will have an in-depth exposure to plays,
and poems. Students will make inferences and analyze the difference between
poems while comparing two or more texts. Students will also read informational
text and identify the main idea and key details. Students will also use digital
resources to locate information.
Students will solve multi step word problems
involving conversion of measurement units, use
concrete models and place value strategies to
multiply and divide decimals to hundredths and
students will graph points on a coordinate plane.
In Science, students will examine multicellular organisms (animal and plant cells) by
use of technology and microscopes.
In Social Studies, students will identify goods and services produced in Maryland past
and present and analyze tit’s impact on consumers and businesses.
IMPORTANT REMINDER—Parents please discuss the importance of appropriate bathroom use
habits with your child. We have noted a series of events with fifth graders that have involved
graffiti in bathroom stalls. Due to these incidences, 5 th grade teachers will now follow a stricter
bathroom use policy for students.
