CSES School Wide Reading Program
*Read books at home and fill out your reading log
Mark the number of balls earned for each book on your reading log.
Picture Book or Magazine-1 ball
Chapter Book Under 100 Pages/ Nonfiction Book-2 balls
Chapter Book 100-300 Pages (can earn two for longer books)-3 balls
*Turn in the reading logs at school according to your teacher’s directions
*The logs will be turned in to your teacher in exchange for 1, 2, or 3 bouncy
balls
*Students will place the balls in the clear grade level tubes in the lobby. The
tubes are placed side by side and since each grade level has a different color, it
resembles a bar graph. This year we will have a “rolling rewards” system.
Whenever a grade level fills their tube, they will receive a reward and a star on
their tube.
*Then that grade level will begin to fill up the tube again and again throughout
the year.
Reading logs can be printed from a link on the Reading Specialist page on the
CSES webpage. Paper copies are also available at school.
