What are Transitions (kid friendly)? A transition is
when things change. An example of a change is going to
a new grade next year.
Counselor Tip for Students: There are several
ways to ensure that you are prepared to switch to a
new grade next year.
1. Ask your current teacher ways you can practice
skills you have learned during the school year at
home.
2. Create goals you would like to achieve for the
upcoming year
Counselor Tip for Parents: There are several
ways to help your child ways to help your child
transition to a new grade:
1 Encourage your child to explore topics of interest
to them by enrolling them in classes or camps during
the summer.
2 Encourage your child to continue reading by taking
them to the library.
There are many local camps that
specialize in different topics such
as STEM, Art, and for children
with Special Needs.
