Thank you for all of your efforts at home to get your children interested in the school routines. Teachers have been meeting with your children daily during small group reading and math instruction. Your children have been following the core values and working collaboratively with their peers to increase their engagement in the learning process. Sargent Shriver Elementary School is excited about teaching and learning! Our goal is to help your children thrive in their futures by providing them with a great public school education. Effective communication between home and school is extremely important in helping us to achieve our goal. We welcome your ideas and suggestions. If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call us at 301-929-4426. It has been reported that strong parental involvement and interest in education is a critical factor for student success in schools. Please review all items your children bring home in their backpacks because they will keep you informed with up to date information about your children’s classes and our school. The staff at Sargent Shriver Elementary School is dedicated to making sure all children are provided with rigorous instruction and are doing well socially and emotionally. We are thankful to have families who support our efforts to improve learning for all children. Our first 5 weeks of school was absolutely grand! Thank you for all of your continued support!
