Parents are invited to use the Sargent Shriver ES Media Center!
The Sargent Shriver Media Center is excited to provide parent accounts for parents to
borrow items from the media center to enjoy with their children.
Who: All parents and guardians of Sargent Shriver Elementary Students
When: Tuesday afternoons from 3:25- 4:30 PM.
Where to enter: Parents should first get their child from their regular dismissal location and then
enter through the main office entrance before heading to the media center.
How: Parents must complete an application and return it to Ms. Anderson, Media Specialist, to
receive a parent account.
What: The Media center has over 20,000 items for circulation. Parents may borrow 3 items at a time.
The collection includes:






Picture Books, Fiction Chapter books, and Nonfiction books
Spanish and Bilingual books
Emergent or Beginning Reader books
Family Literacy kits
Audio books on CD and Playaway
Educational DVDs
Additional Information:
 Parents are allowed to borrow up to 3 library items at a time, one of which may be a multimedia item (CD, audio-book, DVD).
 Parents may keep items up to 2 weeks.
 Parents may return items by sending them to school with your child.
 Parents will be responsible for paying the full cost of any lost or damaged items.
 Parents may be asked to return items early if a teacher needs the items for instructional
purposes.
 Parents may request permission to use the computer in the media center. A separate
computer use agreement is required.
 Parents are also invited to become library volunteers and may help in the media center at any
time by arrangement.
