Reminder: School begins at 8:50
Please remember that our school day begins at 8:50. This means your
child should arrive at school no later than 8:45, so that they have
enough time to settle in and start working at 8:50. During our last days
of November we had up to 30 children per day arriving past 8:50. On
December 2nd your child will be marked tardy if they are not in their

Change #1:
Friday, December 6
Beginning after our Thanksgiving Holiday Break, there will be a 200 foot
parking restriction along Postoak Road near the tennis courts. The “No
Stopping, 8AM – 4PM, School Days” will permit cars to form a
continuous line without any parked cars obstructing the carpool line.
Staff members from the MCDOT have stated that they will be installing
the no parking signs between 11/28-11/30. Therefore, when we return
to school on December 2nd these restrictions will be in place.

Change #2:
Beginning after our Thanksgiving Holiday Break, making a left turn out
of the school parking lot will no longer be permissible between 8:309:00 AM and 3:00-3:30 PM. Staff from the MCDOT have stated that
they will be installing the no left turn signs between 11/28-11/30.
Therefore, when we return to school on December 2nd this restriction
will be in place.
Important Consideration:
Please consider modeling polite and gracious behavior by allowing
people to make a left turn into the carpool lane from Postoak Road.
Taking turns will definitely help to ease the traffic jam that typically
occurs.
Important Maryland State Law:
Cell phone use is prohibited while behind the wheel in the State of
Maryland. Cell phone use in our carpool lane is against the law.
We appreciate you working with us in helping your child arrive at school
on time and to make our arrival and dismissal a safe environment for
our school community.

Are there After School Activities if the
weather causes an early dismissal?
In most cases after school activities are cancelled.
This information is usually included in the early
dismissal notification to parents and schools. If it’s
not, contact the Interagency Control Board (ICB).
The agency rents the school building and is in
charge of cancelling activities.
