News from the Administration May/June 2015 Beverl y Farm s El em entary School , 8501 Postoak Road, Potom ac, M D 20854 301.469.1050 Dear Parents, The fourth marking period of the school year is passing quickly! The staff is working hard to keep children motivated. They increase the engagement of children through the use of technology, hands-on activities and field trips (“in house” and off site). The children have opportunities to collaborate throughout the school day. Teacher supervised “brain breaks” are taken throughout the week to promote positive social and emotional learning experiences. We believe that all of this will help students be successful as the year progresses. ******* As June approaches, planning for the 2015-16 school year is underway. If you know of any families moving to within the BFES boundaries please remind them to contact the school about enrollment. A child is eligible for kindergarten if he or she is five years old by September 1. (Note: BFES does not house any preschool programs.) ******* This week is Teacher Appreciation Week. We are proud of our staff, all of whom contribute to making BFES a great place to teach and learn. They are especially grateful when they hear from you about ways in which they’ve helped your child grow. We appreciate all of the parental support you provide to our school and look forward to a seeing you at upcoming events.
