Babe Ruth’s Accomplishments
Babe Ruth wanted to reach his goal of a great baseball player because he loved
baseball. He was the best pitcher and hitter at his high school. After high school
the Baltimore Orioles noticed him and they hired him to play with the team. In
1914 he joined the Boston Red Sox. Then Babe was traded to the New York
Yankees. Babe hit 29 home runs in 1919. He also crushed 54 home runs in 1920.
He hit 59 in 1921 and he hit 60 home runs in 1927. His hitting frenzy lasted 34
years. He worked hard to reach his goal of being a great baseball player.

My Accomplishment
My goal was to be a better baseball player by catching a fly ball. I was
very good at throwing but not very good at catching. I couldn’t catch a
fly ball. A fly ball is a ball that is high up in the air. I thought to myself “I
can’t do it. It’s impossible.” So my papa went to Sports Authority and
bought a baseball bat and a couple of balls. I hit some pretty far but I
was catching bad. Then I started catching fly balls. I felt I was giving
effort and I was. Then one day I caught 15 FLY balls in a row. My papa
was really proud of me and I was hitting and catching the ball very good
now. That is how I accomplished my goal of being a better baseball
player.
