Major league baseball is the highest level of professional
baseball. He played for the Brooklyn Dodgers. Jackie
showed effort, motivation and persistence to reach his
goal of becoming the first African American major
league baseball player.
Jackie Robinson’s Accomplishment
As a child Jackie was a sports star in
high school and college. People treated him
unfairly because he was a African-American.
African-Americans were not aloud to play in the
major leagues. He played with the Dodgers for 10
years. It took effort, motivation, and persistence

My Accomplishment
This is how I reached my goal and got someone out in a
baseball game. It took me 5 years of practicing throwing the
ball. I practiced throwing the ball at home with my brother
and throwing the ball during baseball practice. I also had to
learn to hustle to the ball. That means to run to the ball
quickly. I wanted to hustle to get into a good field position.
Finally I was able to get someone out in a baseball game.
Conclusion
Now you know Jackie Robinson’s goal to become a
great baseball player and my goal to make an out.
We both used effort, motivation, and persistence to
reach our goals. Are you going to use effort,
motivation, and persistence to reach your goal?
