My Accomplishment
I achieved my goal four double plays in a baseball season by being very persistent. I
practiced in my back yard and at the games. I practiced before they started and at
baseball practice. At the game that was our second of the season I caught a pop fly. A pop
fly is when the batter hits it in the air. I caught that ball then I threw it to 3 rd base. He
was out there too so I got two outs in one hit. Then my second double play was a ground
ball to me. A ground ball is when the ball is hit on the ground. I got the ball tagged first
and threw to second. It was close but he was out at second and first base. My third double
play was a line drive. A line drive is a ball that did not hit the ground but it did not go that
high. Well I caught it and threw it to third and it was two out on one hit. The fourth one
was like the first one it was a pop fly that I caught and I threw it to second base. I
practiced catching pop flies. I would practice pop flies by throwing my self pop flies or my
dad would throw pop flies to me. He would throw me regular throws and I would practice
that so much. He also would roll me ground balls. That is how I achieved my goal of four
double plays in one baseball season.
