NEIL ARMSTRONG AND ME By Josh Introduction NEIL ARMSTRONG WAS A FAMOUS EXPLORER. HE WAS THE FIRST PERSON TO SET FOOT ON THE MOON. HE LANDED ON THE MOON ON JULY 20, 1969. NEIL ARMSTRONG USED EFFORT, MOTIVATION AND PERSISTENCE TO REACH HIS GOAL OF BEING AN ASTRONAUT. NEIL ARMSTRONG’S ACCOMPLISHMENT Neil Armstrong’s goal was to become an astronaut. Neil always liked planes. In 1944 Neil started flying lessons. In 1946 he earned his pilot's license. In 1949 he joined the U.S. Navy and was a fighter pilot. After the war he earned 3 medals for skill and courage. In 1962 he became an astronaut for NASA. NASA is a U.S. government agency that does research on flight and space exploration on the moon. He became the first person to step foot on the moon. He used effort, motivation and persistence to reach his goal of becoming an astronaut . Neil Armstrong and Me Neil Armstrong and I have both worked hard at achieving our goals. Neil Armstrong worked hard at achieving his goal of becoming an astronaut. I have worked hard at achieving my goal of passing Basic 2 at Cabin John Ice Rink. MY ACCOMPLISHMENT My goal was to pass Basic 2 at Cabin John Ice Rink. I would practice backward wiggles, forward and backward swizzles, one foot swizzles, lifting one foot while going forward in a circle, one foot cross over, two foot turns with keeping my body in the same place, one foot and two foot glides, backwards one foot glide's, snowball’s , skating forward while doing one foot cross overs. It was a lot of hard work but I reached my goal and passed Basic 2. Conclusion Neil Armstrong used effort, motivation and persistence to accomplish his goal of becoming an astronaut. I used effort, motivation, and persistence to achieve my goal of passing Basic 2. How will you accomplish your goal? Will you work hard like Neil Armstrong and me? RESOURCES
