BABE RUTH AND ME By Aki INTRODUCTION Babe Ruth is an famous athlete. He played on the New York Yankees baseball team. He hit 714 home runs! He used effort, motivation, and persistence to reach his goal of being a great baseball player. Babe Ruth with the bat. BABE RUTH’S ACCOMPLISHMENT Babe Ruth loved playing baseball. He was a very powerful hitter in the major leagues. The major leagues is the highest playing level of professional baseball. He hit LOTS of homeruns! He hit 29 home runs in 1919 and he hit 54 homeruns in 1920. In 1921 he hit 59 home runs. Then in 1927 he smashed 60 home runs. His record stood for 34 years. That’s how Babe Ruth used effort, motivation, and persistence to become a great baseball player. I worked hard to achieve my goal of completing difficult math homework. The story happened when I was doing my multiplication assignment. I was on my computer and it was hard. I asked my mom and dad to help me. My parents tried to help but I got frustrated. The next day I worked on the assignment again. I worked really hard. I finally figured out the answers to all of the multiplication questions. Now I know every answer to every multiplication sentences up to 10. My parents are very proud of me for reaching my goal. 7 x8 = 56 CONCLUSION This is how Babe Ruth worked hard to become the best baseball player and how I worked hard to be good at my math assignment.
