Homework
After completing the first month of school, we have
reflected on our homework journals/notebooks and
the students’ rate of success. Please look for the
new Reading Log, Math BINGO, and calendar.
Your role in your child’s success is invaluable. We
need support in ensuring that students complete
their nightly work, as all tasks piggyback on,
support, and are extensions of concepts taught in
class.
This Month’s Highlights
As writers, students will engage in
researching an organization that provides
a service, thereby contributing to the
common good.
As scientists, students will utilize their
knowledge of motion, friction, variables
and force to design a car that moves
quickly over varied surfaces.
Words of the Month
In Science, we continue learning about
motion, position, push, pull and gravity.
In Math, students are using varied strategies
and algorithms (such as decomposing
numbers, adding up and partial sums) to
subtract numbers within 1000 as well as
solve two step work problems. Reading,
Writing and Social Studies asks students to
think about the common good, citizenship,
traits, motivation, key details and point of
view.
Thank you to Students...
…for coming to school ready to learn.
…for showing respect for yourself, your classmates
and your school.
…for being responsible and completing homework on
time.
The third graders have reached one of
their Rockin’ Eagle class goals and are
well on the way to reaching another
one!!
