GENERAL INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTION TO APPLICANTS
Please read the instructions given below carefully before applying
1) CANDIDATES SHOULD SUBMIT ONLY ONE APPLICATION FORM WITH VALID DETAILS.
DO NOT SUBMIT DUMMY APPLICATIONS DETAILS WITH SAME CHALLAN NUMBER, AS
IT WILL BE TREATED "MULTIPLE APPLICATION" AND BOTH THE APPLICATIONS WILL
BE REJECTED.
2) DO NOT SEND APPLICATION FORM IN ANY OTHER FORMAT.
3) DO NOT USE ANY OTHER TOOL TO MODIFY THE DOWNLOADED APPLICATION FORM.
THE APPLICATION FORM SHOULD BE DIRECTLY PRINTED ON (A4 SIZE) AS PER THE
WEBSITE SPECIFICATIONS OTHERWISE APPLICATION WILL BE REJECTED.
4) PhD Program in Humanites & Science is available only for Faculties of GTU affiliated colleges
and they would be eligible to enroll only as PART TIME RESEARCH SCHOLAR.
The candidate interested in applying for PhD programme, 2014-15 are advised to note the following and then Click on the Apply-Online button given at the bottom
1. Please go through the Detailed Notification at our website: www.gtu.ac.in . The candidate must
satisfy themselves regarding their eligibility for this test before applying.
2. Deposit the requisite examination fee of Rs. 1200/- for General Category Candidate and Rs. 1000/
- for SC / ST / OBC Category Candidate through SBI online payment (link given at the right side
of the PhD programme).
3. Before applying On-Line, keep the following ready with yourself like; Date of Birth, Marks obtained in various examinations from X onwards, scanned copy of the passport size photograph
and signature etc.).
4. Documentary proof in support of previous experience and academic qualifications should invariably be sent along with the application, failing which it will be believed that the candidate
does not possess the experience and qualifications mentioned therein and the application shall
be treated as incomplete and will be summarily rejected.
5. The fee in not refundable in any case.

6. Candidates already in service must submit their applications (hard copy) through proper
channel with "NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE" from his or her employer to the University.
7.Apply Online using the "Apply-Online button" given at the bottom.
8. After successfully submitting the application online, candidates will be assigned system generated Application Number. The candidates are required to take print out of the Application Form
(on A4 size paper), put his/her signature at the required places, attach self-attested requisite
certificates (towards evidence of Age, Educational qualifications, Caste, Physical disability, Experience etc.) and send along with a copy of Bank Challan to The Registrar, Gujarat Technological
University, PhD Section, Room No. A-207, Nr. Vishwakarma Government Engineering College,
Nr. Visat Three Road, Chandkheda, Ahmedabad -382 424 so as to reach on or before 23-06-2014 by
17:00 hrs.
9.Envelope to be used for sending the completely filled in hard copy of online application form
must be superscribed at the top as " Application for PhD programme- 2014-15" and, name of the
Branch for apprearing in the Entrance Test must also be mentioned at the top of the envelope.
Failing to comply with the above mentioned procedure may lead to summary rejection of application/candidature.
10. The eligible candidates, in their own interest, are advised to keep photocopy of sides of the
completed Application Form (hard copy), Online Generated Application Number, Certificate of
Postage, Challan copy( as a proof of fee deposit) and three identical copies of the passport size
photographs which has been uploaded in the Application Form.
PLEASE NOTE:
(i) Candidates should note that their candidature is strictly provisional till their joining. No candidate will be admitted to the Test unless the name of the candidate appears at the University's
website in the list of eligible candidates to appear for the Test. The mere fact that Online application has been submitted by a candidate will not imply that the University has finally accepted
his/her candidature.
(ii) Only online application followed by hard copy (along with requisite enclosures) will be considered, as per terms and conditions including eligibility criteria, as notified in the Notification. Any
Online Application, whose completely filled in hard copy is not received at the above mentioned
address within the given time frame, will not be entertained.
(iii) Mode of payment of fee is through online SBI portal. Fee submitted through any other mode
will not be accepted. Fee once paid will neither be adjusted for any subsequent examination nor
refunded under any circumstances.
(iv) Incomplete application / application submitted in any other format or application (hard copy)
received after the last date will be summarily rejected and no correspondence will be entertained
in this regard. Hence, the candidates are advised in their own interest to apply early enough to
ensure timely receipt of their applications on or before the closing date.
(v) No correspondence will be entertained for any matter for which last date has been expired.
