More than 50 Ceramic Industries appreciated the declaration of Sectoral Innovation
Council in Ceramic Eng by key efforts of Prof P.C.Vasani and Student coordinators
The Morbi Sankul Co-Chairperson Prof.P.C.Vasani along with the Associate Dean of GTU- Rajkot
Zone - Prof.D.H.Ahir and the Senior Professors Pandit and Bhetariya organized the meeting
with 45 industrialist of the Morbi region to intensify the Industry-Institute Interaction. In the
presence of the Honorable Rural Development Minister Shri.Mohanbhai Kundariya of Gujarat
State, all the 45 Industrialist welcomed the movement of GTU for industry participation and
assured their support to accommodate 250 Diploma students for IDP as well as for jobs to the
GTU - Diploma Engineering students, when they graduate. The Honorable minister appealed to
the Industrialist for providing a platform to the engineering students for their Final Year
projects and to offer them financial assistance, so that the students coming from rural area can
earn and be independent as far as their educational expenses are concerned.
Shri Chunibhai from Antique Granito , Shri Prabhubhai from Coral Granito , Shri.Girishbhai from
DecoLight , Shri.Jagdishbhai from Lorenzo Vitrified ,Shri.Jitubhai from Sipolo Vitrified and
Shri.Vallabhbhai from Varmora Pvt.Ltd. were the major participants from the Ceramic Sector of
Industries.
Prof.Vasani discussed the idea of IDP and invited industry people to extend their hand to the
students. He said that the GTU project would help develop better engineers and it would help
the industry. Prof.D.H.Ahir threw light on the vision of GTU as well as about the adaptation
process by bringing some newer processes like Industry Required Syllabus , Course ware
Design, the concept of Sectoral Council and IDPs. The Institute signed an MOU with Ceramic
Industrialists about accommodating 250 students for Training, IDP as well as for the jobs.

As per the proposed plan of GTU Innovation Council Sectoral councils are being set up in
various disciplines involving MSMEs, Policy makers, Students, Faculties and local authorities.
Prof P.C.Vasani , Co-Chair, GTU Innovation Sankul, Morbi has taken significant initiatives with
the help of his colleagues inside Udisha clubs and young students to set up one Sectoral council
in Ceramic Eng.

Prof U.K. Chhaya , L.E. College morbid and other dignitaries during declaration of sectoral innovation
council in ceramic eng at REA, Rajkot Eng Association , Rajkot.
During a mega function at REA during the last month Mr. Hiranmay Mahanta of GTU
Innovation Council had proposed such an effort for Ceramic Eng and the team at Morbi Sankul
has taken key step to make it happen in the least possible time. A series of meetings were held to
design a detailed road map and a large industry participation was ensured by sustainable efforts
of Prof Vasani and his team. Sectoral innovation Council at GTU will help develop the GTU
innovation ecosystem in Ceramic Engineering so that faculty members, students and MSME
people from all Sankuls may be able to participate in this mission of the Sectoral Innovation
Council.
