Congratulations to Naroda Innovation Sankul for completing formation of its Sankul
Committee involving Co-Chairmen, Directors and Industry counterparts of various Sectors.
Naroda Innovation Sankul has geared up in setting up the complete architecture of
corresponding colleges and GIDC clusters with excellent cooperation from President Naroda
Industry Association. This Sankul have finished half a dozen industrial Shodh Yatras and located
around 50 industry defined projects by now.The faculties of the colleges have helped the
students in modularizing the problems and accompanying them in Industrial Shodh Yatras for
enabling the students to have a greater visibility and practical aspects of floor MSMEs.The
Industrial Shodh Yatras have been lead by Prof Uday Trivedi, Prof M.G.Desai and others from
various branches. The Service sector of industries has been brought into the loop for MBA and
associated streams.

The Naroda Industries Association (NIA) hosed a dinner for all the college prinicipals of the
Vatva and Naroda Sankuls at the Paryavaran Mandir, Naroda on 28/4/2011. The meeting was
chaired by Shri Shaileshbhai Patwari, President, NIA and Co-Chair (Industry) for the Naroda
Sankul. The ‘Shodhyatras’ carried out, by the professors and students at Naroda had proved to
be hugely successful. Both the industries and the academia realised that the interaction
between the industries and industries through the Sankuls should be promoted further.
GTU Innovation Council has nominated the following Directors in their respective fields in
Naroda Innovation Sankul.
Shri Shaileshbhai Patwari, President, NIA and Co-Chair (Industry) for the Naroda Sankul has
provided excellent support to each Industrial Shodh Yatra and has hosted periodic meetings
with Principals and students. He has nominated members from various industry domains for
smooth functioning of the Innovation Sankul and has assured all cooperation for the excellent

cause. Naroda Industry Association and its members have shown extra ordinary support to GTU
students and faculties from the very beginning. For the Shodh Yatra led by Prof Uday Trivedi
and Mr. Hiranmay Mahanta in February 2011, NIA provided all possible infrastructure support.
The Principals and Directors jointly are working out an action agenda by this week end. The Innovation
Sankul is allocating specific faculty to specific group of students very soon so that proper mentoring can
be provided to all the students at all the stages of work starting from scouting floor issues and
developing them as part of the Final year project during the academic year 2011-12. It is expected that
dedicated sector specific groups of faculties will come forward to design and execute the local policies
relevant to the MSMEs/Colleges of particular Sankul.
Completing formation of the Naroda Innovation Sankul committee:
The nomination of the five Directors for each of the disciplines of MCA, MBA, Pharmacy, Degree
Engineering and Diploma Engineering (Appendix 1) was completed on 12th May 2011.
The 5th Meeting of Naroda Innovation Sankul for Director Nomination is being addressed by Prof.
Akshai Aggarwal, VC, GTU
The nomination of industry leaders (Appendix 2) to the Sankul Committee has completed the
formation of the Sankul Committee.

Mr. Sailesh Patwari has offered the infrastructure
and human resources of NIA for use by the
Sankul. He has also nominated 17 persons from
industries of various disciplines who would be
members of the Sankul Committee. He has
requested all the Principals to motivate students
and faculties to visit the industries and document
their observations. He narrated a few successful
cases in dinner meeting hosted on behalf of
Naroda Industry Association wherein waste was
converted into useful raw material for producing
energy and economy.

problem statements / industry defined problems as desired by GTU. A vibrant
linkage between each stake holder of GTU Innovation Council including students,
faculties, Industries and Sankul authorities can certainly improve both the products
and processes of MSMEs and business units.”
