Congratulations to GTU Innovation Sankul -Junagadh for startingd allocation of students to
industries so that the pre-Final Year students can work out the Industry Defined Problems (IDP)
during the months of June and July
GTU Innovation Council has created an Innovation Sankul in and around Junagadh consisting of 23 GTU
colleges. This Sankul has successfully congregated the team from both industry and academia.GTU
Innovation Council has nominated the following authorities as Co-chairmen for the Sankul:

As per directives of the honorable VC Dr Akshai Aggarwal, a meeting of the UDISHA Clubs under the
GTU Innovation Sankul- Junagadh was held at Noble Group of Institutions, Junagadh on May. 11, 2011
at 02:30 under the guidance of Dr. Ved Vyas Dwivedi (Academic Co-chairman of Junagadh Sankul).
The representatives of different colleges including degree/diploma engineering, pharmacy, MBA colleges
from Junagadh district discussed many topics related to UDISHA Club activities.
1. Each college will submit the hierarchy of the committee members working in their UDISHA
CLUB by May 12, 2010, 5.00 pm.
2. Each college is going to make a list of industry persons who will help their students to improve
their practical aspects.
3. The students of 2nd & 4th semester (degree engineering) will be divided into groups of 20-25 each.
One faculty member will be allocated to each group for their supervision.
4. The students of 6th semester (degree engineering) are individually (or in a group of two/three)
going to have training of approximately 1 month after completion of their 6th semester final exam.
They will be monitored by one of the faculty members from the department.
5. The students are provided an NOC from their respective colleges for industrial training.
6. The students of 2nd semester MBA are having compulsory summer training after completion of
their 2nd semester final exam.
7. All the students will submit their training report after Industrial Shodh Yatras.

8. The presentation session will be conducted in the next semester to share their knowledge with
their classmates.
9. The students will take snaps of their training session if permitted and will submit the same to their
department.
10. The Pharmacy will plan for their students for summer training.
11. MCA institutions will prepare the same what has been discussed in the agenda.
12. The list of participating colleges is attached.
13. A sample NOC was distributed to these institutions.
14. Also a sample copy (roughly prepared) of report was given to all representatives.
15. All the students of semesters VI, IV and II to be informed/addressed in person especially during
GTU exams about the objectives of this Sankul.
16. They should be assigned with internal guides / supervisors for the visits, projects, training and
interaction in groups of 20-25 (Sem. II, IV) and 1-3 (Sem. VI).
The Innovation Sankul has started allocating students to industries so that the pre-Final Year
students can work out the Industry Defined Problems (IDP) during the months of June and July.

Appendix 3: GTU Innovation Sankul - Junagadh activated following activities at Noble group of
Integrated Technical Education-Junagadh campus
[1]. A Tacheometric project work was completed by 51 students of 4th semester along with 5 faculty
members of Civil Engineering on 4th March, 2011 at P.T.C. college campus ground, Junagadh.
[2]. An industrial shodh yatra (visit) was conducted for 6th semester students of EC branch at BSNL
on 25th April 2011. Total 62 students and three faculty members visited BSNL Exchange
Junagadh.
[3]. An industrial shodh yatra (visit) was conducted for 5th semester students of EC branch at
DOORDARSHAN, Rajkot on 26/09/2010. Total 62 students along with 6 faculty members
visited DOORDARSHAN KENDRA.
[4]. A shodh yatra (visit) was conducted for 4th semester students of EC branch at SONIC,
Gandhinagar on 1st April 2010. Total 62 students along with 8 faculty members visited the
company.
[5]. A shodh yatra (visit) was conducted for 6th semester students of IT branch at ISRO, Gandhinagar
on 28/02/2011. Total 50 students along with 4 faculty members visited the company.
[6]. A shodh yatra (visit) was conducted for 6th semester students of MECHANICAL branch at
JYOTI CNC, Rajkot on 10/05/2011. Total 60 students along with 5 faculty members visited the
company.
[7]. The students of semester 1st and 3rd sem (total 50) along with 4 faculty members of MBA visited
two companies named PRINT VISION PVT. LTD and AMBA OFFSET at Ahmedabad on 2-3
October 2010. They visited Akshay Patra (NGO) at Gandhinagar
