REP PORT OF F WO ORKSHOP ON ANDROI ID APPLIC CATION DEVELOPM D MENT 22nd- 23 3rd JULY, 2011 A two day workshop on “Android Application Development’’ was organized by Department of computer engineering &Information Technology, R.K. College of Engineering &Technology, Rajkot, on 22nd- 23rd July – 2011. Gadgets enthusiast Mr. Gargi Das (Champion - Forum Nokia, Tech Lead Infostretch Solutions,) and hardcore of programmer of cutting age Mobile Technologies. Mr. Rajnikant Joshi(Android Tech Lead at InfoStretch Solutions Pvt Ltd.) conducted the workshop for computer engineering and information technology students. On the first day of workshop experts talk on mobile technologies in android, android fundamentals, its benefits for developers, career scope and marketability of this new technology. Few fundamental questions such as, ‘How one can setup android development?’ were discussed interactively. In the afternoon session experts discussed and explain XML, manifest and java files, understanding of file structure and IDE. One the next day experts (can put specific name) talked on the next level of android advancement concepts such as “ service, internet, application life cycle, activity life cycle, content providers and issues related broadcast and internet receivers, deeper explanations of programs and troubleshooting. Workshop was concluded with fruitful discussions, informative queries and innovative project ideas. To find out the output of workshop survey was carried out among its 120 participants.
