Shri B. M. shah College of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Modasa had organized GUJCOST
sponsored National Seminar on Pharmaceutical Education development: Need of Academia and Industry
Harmonization March 2, 2012; Friday. Total 236 Teacher and M. Pharm Students delegates; including
222 from 20 Pharmacy colleges from Gujarat, Rajasthan and Maharashtra and 14 from industry had
participated.
Inaugural function was followed by registration and breakfast. It was started with prayer by M. Pharm
Students. Principal Dr. N. M. Patel had introduced the guests and institute. Guests were felicitated by
bouquet and mementos as a token of love. Seminar was inaugurated with lighting the lamp by guests.
The chief guest Dr. B. P. Nagori, Director and Head faculty of Pharmacy, Lachoo Memorial College of
science and Technology, Jodhpur, had given keynote address. He explained lucidly Baghvad Gita’s the
principal of karm and leadership in individual, institute and industry. Dr. A. N. Misra and Dr. M. R. Yadav
was the guest of honour for the function. Shri Mahendra V. Shah, Vice President of the M. L. Gandhi
Higher Education Society, Modasa had presided over the function. Dr. Amit Patel had expressed the votes
of the thanks.
Dr. A. N. Misra, Professor in Pharmaceutics and Dean of faculty of Technology & Engineering, the M. S.
University of Baroda, had delivered first plenary lecture on ‘Academia Industry Interaction and its
Importance in Learning’. He explained the expectation of industry and academia, barrier to interaction,
possible area, how it achieved and each other benefits Second plenary lecture was given by Dr. M. R.
Yadav, Professor and Head of department of Pharmacy, the M. S. University of Baroda, on ‘Designing and
Development of α1 and AT1 blocking dual inhibitors as potential antihypertensive agents. He had briefly
explained advantages to dual inhibitors, designing of dual α1 and AT1 Inhibitor, Dual Inhibitors Designed
and Developed and its three dimensional structure with potent molecule.
Immediately after delicious lunch, poster presentation and evaluation was arranged. There was a total 93
posters were presented including pharmaceutics 36, Pharmaceutical chemistry and Quality assurance 30,
Pharmacognosy 17, and Pharmacology 10 papers. Following were the evaluators.

They have examined and given first and second number in each subjects and winner were awarded prize
in the valedictory function.
In post noon session third plenary lecture were delivered by Dr. B. P. Nagori form Jodhpur on ‘Research
Methodology’. He defined research, quality of good research, research process/methodology and basic
steps of a research. Last plenary lecture were given by Dr. J. B. Dave, Director, Shri Sarvajanik Pharmacy
College, Mehsana on ‘Indian Pharma Industry: Current Scenario & Future Trends'. He introduced Indian
Pharma industry, stage of growth, strategy and vision, quality managements and its risk.
In the last concluding session- valedictory function, Principal Dr. N. M. Patel had introduced the guest and
gave concluding remark. Chief guest Dr. M. M. Patel had advice to work hard in harmonization. Dr. Arun
N. Shah, president of the M. L. Gandhi Higher Education Society was presided over the function. In the
presidential address he explained the working of the management and institutes run by the
management. Management is celebrating its golden jubilee on the next day i.e. March 3-4, 2012. He
felicities judges of the poster paper presentation by offering bouquet and mementos as a token of love.
Winners in poster paper competition were awarded prizes. It was concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. D.
