Competition and interactive session on Role of youth in Prevention and awareness of AIDS
under Red Ribbon Club on 26/02/2013 at SVBIP, Vasan. The rampant spread of the HIV/AIDS
virus over the past 29 years has created the most significant global public health crisis in
modern era. The poster presentation and oral session plays a special role in promoting AIDS
awareness and safe sex education across cultures.
“AIDS Awareness PROGRAMME “an orientation program was conducted as part of the Red Ribbon Club
activities of Shankersinh Vaghela Bapu Institute of Pharmacy on 26.02.2013 at 10.30 am. The program
was presided over by Dr. M.M. Patel, Director & Principal, Shankersinh Vaghela Bapu Institute of
Pharmacy, Vasan, Gandhinagar & Mr. Bharatsinh Vaghela, Managing Secretary, Bapu Gujarat
Knowledge, Vasan, Gandhinagar. Dr. M. M. Patel felicitated the gathering. Dr. Amar J. Vyas, Medical
Social Worker in Dept of P.S.M., B. J. Medical College, Ahmedabad was chief presenter for the function.
We invited him to deliver lecture on “Role of youth in Prevention and awareness of AIDS” & “Save Girl
Child”. B.pharm and M.Pharm students of SVBIP – 130 students participated in this oral
interactive session. This interactive session ended at 12.30 pm. Concomitantly AIDS awareness
Posters were presented by students. More than 50 students participated in AIDS awareness poster
presentation at our college level. Invited dignitaries Mr. Bharatsinh Vaghela, Managing Secretary,
BGKV, Lt. Cdr. Rajivsingh, CAO, BGKV, Mr. Sunil Hrishikesh, Advisor, BGKV took round during poster
session and sharing their views, suggestions to each group of participants. Best three posters were
selected through judge panels and awards will given on next Annual meet of our college and
honor them with certificate and Memento.
