Blood Donation & Thalassemia Test Camp

Under the visionary guidance of the institute principal Prof.K.R.Khatri two day Thalassemia
Test camp is organized at this institute on Dt:6-03-13 to Dt: 07-03-13 . The whole program is
convened and executed under the leadership of the conveners Prof.D.B.Vagadia and The GTU
Associate Dean Prof.D.H.Ahir in support from the co-conveners Prof.M.G.Purohit ,Dr.Smita
Chhag , and all other members of the committee as well as the whole institute staff. All
arrangements in EC department as well as logistics were supported by Prof.S.J.Chauhan –
HOD-EC for this noble cause.Total 550 students have been tested on the first day. The
number is raised to 1350 on the second day. The voluntary blood donation program is also
clubbed along with the Thalassemia Test Camp. Total 105 bags of the blood is donated by the
students of Government Polytechnic-Rajkot to field marshal Blood Bank of the Rajkot. Under
the leadership of Company Commander NCC Prof.Purohit the NCC cadets of this institute
have supported the whole camp and worked as volunteer in managing the arrangemants at
the camp. Principal congratulated the conveners and the whole team for successfully
handling the whole event. All HODs have motivated students to participate in the camp.
