About the Programme:
Energy security has an important bearing on achieving national economic development goals and
improving the quality of life of the people. The level of per capita energy consumption has for
long been considered as one of the key indicator of economic growth. Different renewable
energy technologies (RET) and their advantages will be discussed. Energy generated by using
wind, tides, solar, geothermal heat, and biomass including farm and animal waste as well as
human excreta is known as non-conventional energy. All these sources are renewable or
inexhaustible and do not cause environmental pollution. More over they do not require heavy
expenditure. Energy security has an important bearing on achieving national economic
development goals and improving the quality of life of the people. The level of per capita energy
consumption has for long been considered as one of the key indicator of economic growth. In
this STTP an attempt has been made to present potential of non-conventional renewable energy
sources in India. Different renewable energy technologies (RET) and their advantages will also
be discussed.

How to Apply:
Interested faculty members from Engineering and Polytechnic are requested to complete the
attached application form or its photocopy with signature of authority and return it to coordinator
by registered post, along with DD or case of Rs.500/-(Refundable after successfully completion
of STTP) in favour of ISTE Chapter, BBIT payable at Vallabh Vidyanagar. Application form by
Email will not accepted.
TA/DA:
Participants are not eligible to claim TA and other related Expenses. Boarding and Lodging
facility are provided by coordinator during the programme. Certificate of participant is issued
only after the successfully completion and fully attending of STTP.
