Chairman –VVP Principal –VVP VVP GTU AICTE The birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, prominently known as the first union cabinet minister of Education is celebrated on 11th November since 2008. It is declared as “National Education Day in India by Government of India in 2008. When education in India is soaring its wings in the various fields of education for the overall development of Indian students. The National Education Day is welcomed with optimism as this will ultimately add to the National development. V.V.P Engineering College has always remained faithful to such celebration of specific days for awareness and knowledge of the students as well as faculties. For students: On 11th November 2013, at 9.30, the students of V.V.P. Engineering College were informed about the importance and celebration of the National Education Day by Dr. Krishna K. Joshi- Asst. Prof. of Biotechnology Engg. Dept. They were informed about the importance of education and the advantages of it as well as skill development along with vocational training. For Faculties: The teachers are the character builders of the nation. Maulana Kalaam, the staunch follower of Gandhian thoughts and the promoter of Swaraj shared his vary valuable thoughts on education. The address of Honorable Chairman of AICTE Shri S.S. Mantha, was attended by faculties of V.V.P. Engineering College. The address by Shri Mantha was replete with his significant survey, observations and suggestions to strengthen the National Education system, as universal prominence of education is increasing by leaps and bounds. The national education system is following the highest ideal of Gandhiji, “Education for All”. This highest ideal is further emphasized by “Bharat Ratna” Shri Maulana and he said that education must be imparted by heart. As we are all aware that basic education is right of every Indian citizen. The nation is expecting high ideals awareness and services to social causes by the faculties; their contribution is highly expected and encouraged as well. Shri Mantha emphasized on the due educational qualifications, academic uplift of the faculties through training, higher education, research and patents of the teachers across the nation as the Government has spared enormous amount for education in India. The students should be imparted with vocational training along with conventional education system which leads to self employment, self development with soft skills, especially very much required in the rural areas of the country. The webinar ended with Scholarly remarks by Shri Mantha based on his survey and observations, which go hand in hand with the thoughts of Shri Gandhiji and Bharat Shri Maulana Abul Kalaam Azad.
