ABOUT THE INSTITUTE
With an established reputation as one of
the leading Engineering institutes of
Gujarat state, VGEC, Chandkheda has
become the first choice for many students
willing to pursue a B.E. or M.E., to build
up their career as an Engineer.
Vishwakarma Government Engineering
College, Chandkheda was established in
August 1994, with an objective of
imparting higher education in various
fields of engineering and technology. This
institute is recognized by All India
Council of Technical Education (AICTE),
New Delhi and Institute of Engineers
(India). The college is administrated by
Commissionerate of Technical Education,
Gujarat State, Gandhinagar and is
affiliated with Gujarat Technological
University.
In 2005, the college was shifted at its new
campus at Chandkheda, Ahmedabad. The
new campus has total 12 blocks with builtup area of 21,000 sq. meter (approx).The
campus also has a facility of separate Girls
and Boys Hostel for the students coming
from outside. At present the institute offers
nine under graduate degree programme
Mechanical
Engineering,
Electrical
Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer
Engineering, Information Technology,
Instrumentation and Control, Electronics
& Communication, Chemical Engineering
and Power Electronics Engineering and
two post graduate degree programme like,
Signal Processing & VLSI Design and
Chemical Engineering. The college is
located
on Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar
highway.
ABOUT GUJCOST
Gujarat Council on Science and
Technology (GUJCOST) was established
in 1986 under Education Department,
Gujarat State. Gujarat Council on Science
& Technology is functioning as an
autonomous society from Date 1-2-2000
under department of Science &
Technology. Gujarat Council on Science
and Technology shall act as a focal forum
to inculcate scientific temper for attaining
new heights in research and development
for welfare of masses and to improve the
quality of their life as well as to solve
important issues of socio-economic
development of the state by acting as
organic link between science, technology
and
economy.

OBJECTIVE OF PROGRAMME
The objective of this programme is to enhance
career growth of employed women and guide
unemployed women through Science,
Technology and Engineering education,
Entrepreneurship development and Life
management skills.
According to the World Bank, countries which
promote women's rights enjoy lower poverty
rates, faster economic growth and less
corruption than countries that do not. "The
evidence shows that education, health,
productivity, credit and governance work
better when women are involved."
PROGRAMME CONTENTS
Emphasis will be given to various
technological skills and education, application
of information technology, aspects of
Entrepreneurship Development and Life
Management
skills.
Presentation
and
discussion with successful women experts on
various selected themes and relevant topics
with success stories. Unemployed students
will be guided for various avenues and
participants will be trained for life
management skills for sustainability in
professional career in our traditional cultural
environment for further empowerment.
