Report on Alumni Meet held on 29th December 2013 at
BITS edu campus
Alumni Association of Institute of Technology, BITS edu campus organized its 2nd
Alumni Meet on 29th Dec 2013 in campus with enduring vision of Honorable
Chairman, Shri J.D. Patel to facilitate interaction amongst Alumni, students and
teachers.
The event started at 4:00 pm with registrations followed by interaction of Alumni
with students of current batch and teachers.
The formal session started by inviting dignitaries Shri S.K. Patel (Director, BITS
edu camups), Dr. Paulomi Vyas (Principal, Institute of Technology), Dr. S.K.
Agrawal (Dean, Institute of Technology), Mr. Ketan Patel (Advisory Board
Member), Prof. Saurabh Shah (Convener, Alumni Association of Institute of
Technology) on the Dias and proceeded further with auspicious invocation song
rendered by students, devotional dance performed by students and Lighting
Lamp by dignitaries, Head of Departments and Senior Professors.
The welcome address was delivered by Dr. S.K. Agrawal, Dean, Institute of
Technology where he focused on vision of Alumni Association and expressed his
gratitude for Alumni’s presence. Mr. Ketan Patel, Advisory Board Member
addressed the gathering by emphasizing upon the importance of alumni coming
back to their ALMA MATER.
Event was made entertaining by a series of Cultural Programmes and
Performances given by current batch students. Alumni were amused after taking
part in recreation activities and games.
Achievements of Alumni in their Professional Career were presented. Alumni
were invited to share their success stories and experience which turned out to be
most wonderful and nostalgic experience for all.
Alumni members shared their success stories and exchanged innovative ideas to
further improve on working methodology and suggested how to align towards
industry needs. During their speeches, they appreciated efforts of all faculty and
student coordinators to make it pleasant and successful event. They extended
their support to render any kind of service to institute like Placement, Guest
Lecture, Project Development, Career Counseling and many more. Many of them
gave consent to work as office bearers on board of governors of Alumni
Association.
Prof. Pallavi Agarwal (Head of Department, ME) shared her experience and
expressed her feelings for Alumni with a special note of remarkable
achievements of Alumni.
Prof. Saurabh Shah (Convener, Alumni Association of Institute of Technology)
presented report on building bridges activities and future plans of Alumni
Association. He took special note of Alumni Members who had travelled all the
way from outside Gujarat and India to attend the event. He appreciated efforts of
Senior Faculty members who had laid down foundation of Alumni Association.
Alumni members were invited to take charge and plan for future events as per
current Industry needs to bridge gaps between Industry and Academia.
Prof. Nipa Desai (Head of Department, Civil) presented Vote of Thanks and
appreciated support extended by Chairman Sir, Vice Chairman, Director,
Principal, Dean and Head of Departments, Assistant Registrar, Organizing
Committee members for their efforts, student coordinators, participants and other
supporting staffs. Valuable presence of Alumni members and distinguished
guests Mr. Ketan Patel (Advisory Board Member) was specially appreciated.
More than 130 Alumni members from all disciplines participated and made event
memorable.
Committee members of Alumni Association(Prof. Saurabh A. Shah(Convener),
Prof. Dinal Panchal(EE), Prof. Saurabh P. Shah(EC), Prof. Swapnil Parikh(CSE),
Prof. Mukund Pandya(ME), Prof. Hetal Pathak(EC), Prof. Sonu Choudhary(CSE)
and Prof. Riddhi Vasi(Civil)) and Student Coordinators(Udit Jeswani, Abhishek
Gajera and Team) expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Management for all kind
of support.
Event was concluded with Sumptuous Network Dinner and live musical band
performance given by Alumni members ( Mufid Makrani and team).
It was decided to arrange Alumni meet every year on last Sunday of December.
It was a very good platform and a great opportunity to interact with Alumni
members and relish & refresh the time spent together.
