July 2013) of Degree engineering. Gujarat Technological University has implemented new syllabus for the students of Degree Engineering from the academic year 2013-14. Semester I students have been studying new curricula in the current academic term. Degree engineering students are required to study 12 subjects during Semester I and II. There are students who had been admitted before academic year 2013-14, studied and cleared semester I as per old syllabus (6 subjects). Those students, whose term are granted in related semester but have not appeared in the GTU examination will also fall into this category. The students, who have detained in Semester I as per GTU norms, are required to study Semester I as per new syllabus. The students who studied Semester I and have detained in Semester II due to GTU norms (discontinued study) and are now regular in semester II in the even term of academic year 201314 shall study Semester II as per new syllabus. The students of Group II shall be exempted from the subject “Electrical and Electronics Workshop” provided they have studied the subject “Workshop” as per old syllabus in Semester I. The students of Biomedical Engineering shall be exempted from studying the subject “Physics” in Semester II provided that they have already studied the subject “Chemistry” in Semester I as per old syllabus. -sdI/C Registrar
