ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
Under the visionary leadership of Honb. Dr. Akshai K. Aggarwal, Vice chancellor, GTU has
successfully organized 25 faculty workshops and 10 student workshops on various themes viz. “Patenting
in Engineering”, “Patenting in Pharmaceuticals” and “Patent Search Methodology” at different zone of
GTU since September 2011 to till September 2013. In this process nearly 3000 faculty members and
3000 students have been trained and aware about the basics of IPR and Patent in particular. Due to these
efforts, within 2 years time period 217 Patents have been filed by GTU affiliated college students and
faculty of Engineering and Pharmacy discipline. This number is higher than any IIT of our country for the
same period. The credit goes to the students, faculty and all the stake holder of research and innovation,
who have actively engaged in the promotion of IPR.
Now this year also many M. Pharm students are going to pursue their dissertation projects. So if they
understand the in depth about how to do a patent search, it will be helpful to them to select a research
topic which will be of novel one. Further, if satisfy selected topic fulfills all three criteria of patentability
then the invention done by the student can be patentable too. With this objective GTU has organized
exclusive workshop for Pharmacy faculty on “Patent Search and Analysis Report (PSAR) Generation” on
26th October 2013, Saturday, which achieved a huge success. GTU has decided to include “Patent Search
and Analysis Report (PSAR) Generation” as a part of evaluation of M. Pharm students during Mid Sem
review. Hence training of at least one PG faculty per department, per institute is highly desirable. To do
so GTU is organizing one day workshop on “Patent Search and Analysis Report (PSAR) Generation”
on 21 st December 2013, Saturday.
OBJECTIVES
 The main objective is to increase the novelty level in the dissertation topics selected by
the students of M. Pharm
 To give hands-on-training of Patent Search
 To give hand-on-training on Preparation of Patent Search and Analysis report

Techno- legal Experts from Industry and Academia from Pharmacy sector will be invited.
PARTICIPANT’S ELIGIBILITY
 Faculty members from all the GTU affiliated Pharmacy colleges, wherein M. Pharm
course (in any specialization) is running.
 From each college, it is highly desirable that 01 (One) faculty pe r each PG
specialization branch should participate. Maximum limit per college is 05 faculty
me mbers.
 Faculty who have already attended pervious PSAR program can also participate.
TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION
Participating faculties have to make necessary arrangement for their travel and accommodation
and TA/DA will not be provided.
REGISTRATION FEE
Registration is Free for Faculties from GTU affiliated Pharmacy colleges.
