Gujarat Technological University has been revising the syllabus of Bachelor of Engineering from the
academic year 2013-14. Institute Elective will be offered in Semester V. Each branch at a given
college may choose either of the two subjects: a) Cyber Security and b) Disaster Management.

Any branch can take any subject from the above mentioned subjects. There will be no branch specific
restriction.
The load for the subject can be decided by the individual college. It can be taught by the parent
department itself or by the Computer/IT Department for cyber security or Civil Department for
Disaster Management.
The above circular is issued as per the approval of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor on submission of
Academic Department dated 5th May 2015.
