Open Source Technologies Club has been established at A.Y.Dadabhai Technical Institute,
kosamba as per GTU Guidelines. The Structure of the OSTC in our Institute is as below.

The goal of the OSTC is to enhance the skills in Faculty As well as Students. Moreover OSTC focuses on Free
Software Tool Training. To fulfil the purpose of OSTC A.Y.Dadabhai Technical Institute, Kosamba has organized First
Faculty development program on “LATEX- Document Preparation Tool” on 19th March 2014.
The Aim & Activities of Spoken Tutorial Team as well as OSTC has been depicted by Faculty Coordinator
Prof.V.M.Patil in the Starting of the Workshop. The Workshop was started at 11:00 A.M In the laboratory of
Computer Engineering Department. All the faculty members of various Departments [45 Faculties] had attended
the Workshop.
Brief description about LATEX was given by Ms.Madhukriti Shrivastava of IIT Bombay, Spoken Tutorial Team. She
had introduced LATEX in Brief & Easy Manner. As LATEX is Typesetting software for preparing reports, letters and
presentations - especially useful for persons engaged in writing/ publishing documents from
science/arts/commerce fields.
After introduction, all faculty members studied and performed various tutorials like how to prepare report, design
tables and writing mathematical equations etc. As given in the Video Tutorial. Everyone had found the Session
Very Informative & Useful for their further Career.
Video Tutorial given by the Spoken Tutorial Team was easy and useful. One can do self-practice with this tutorial
and can learn any technology by own.

All Faculty Members had studied the Software very passionately. Many of them have decided to Work with LATEX
& also planned to Write Research Papers with the help of LATEX.
At the End of the Workshop feedback taken by Ms. Madhukriti Shrivastava of IIT Bombay, Spoken Tutorial Team
and all faculty members gave their views on LATEX as well as suggestions on how to make the workshop more
effective.
