Late Shri Dewang Mehta IT Awards 2014 for Degree Engineering
Students of Gujarat
The Government of Gujarat decided to honour the son of soil late Shri Dewang Mehta by
Institutionalizing an IT award for the Degree Engineering students of Gujarat. The GR was
issued on 26th June 2001 constituting and formalizing Shri Dewang Mehta IT award.
After the huge success of our first & second event of Dewang Mehta IT Awards which was
held on 06th August 2012 & 07TH August 2013, NASSCOM Regional Council along with
Gujarat Technological University (GTU), Dewang Mehta Foundation, GESIA and GIL are
hosting an event on 2nd August 2014, the 52nd Birth Anniversary of Shri Dewang Mehta at
Gujarat University Convention Centre, Ahmedabad.
Gujarat is the most happening and fastest growing state in Asia. Gujarat, with its all
inclusive, sustainable and rapid growth, is emerging as a globally preferred place to live in
and to do business. Gujarat has over 100 engineering colleges (Govt and Deemed).
Dewang Mehta Foundation Trust invites nominations from your esteemed college for the
3rd edition of Dewang Mehta IT Awards.
The award will be given annually to three Final year students / team of students doing IT
or Computer/Computer Science from the Engineering colleges of Gujarat (Govt and
Deemed) based on the evaluation of the technical project. Weightage will also be given to
the presentation and communication skills of the student/s. Cash award of Rs.1 Lakh to
be given to three students / teams each (Total sum of 3 Lacs).
Last year the winners were the students of

· LDRP Gandhinagar, Gandhinagar
· G.H. Patel College of Engineering and Technology, Vallabh Vidyanagar

Project** should be in the format given in guideline & Can be submitted to GTU (Details are
given in guidelines).
** Please send only one project from each discipline i.e. one from Computer/Computer
Science Engineering and one from Information & Technology.
Dewang Mehta Foundation Trust invites the students of your esteemed
college (toppers) for felicitation during Dewang Mehta IT Awards 2014.
Aim of the Meet: To create a talent pool of engineers belonging to the Gujarat and to
showcase the prospective meritorious students to the industry, to assess the skill gaps and
supports the talented students of this region.
Eligibility: All the Degree Engineering toppers belong to Universities (Govt. and Deemed)
and their affiliated colleges of Gujarat.
Students of the following disciplines· Electronics & Electrical Engineering
· Electronics & Communication Engineering
· Information Technology
· Computer Science or Computer Engineering
· Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering
Highest CPI /year in 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th year
[Individual year’s topper i.e. Topper in 1st year from all five branches (total 5 students),
topper in 2nd year from all five branches (total 5 students) and likewise for rest of the
years]
Certificate of Merit for Academic Excellence: All the eligible toppers will receive
‘Certificate of Merit for Academic Excellence’ by Celebrities and a group photo opportunity.
How to participate: The principal of the concerned Engineering College has to send a
certified list of toppers (both soft and hard copies) from each branch as listed above for all
four years as per the following format after thorough verification. And all semester Marksheets duly signed and stamped by Principal of your college (this is important).
The toppers accompanied by the Management & Principal will receive the awards.
