The Science and Engineering Research Board, through Scheme for Young Scientists,
provides research funding, up to a maximum of Rs. 23 lakhs (excluding overhead charges)
for a period not exceeding three years, to young scientists below the age of 35 years
(relaxable by 5 years in the case of SC/ST/OBC, woman and physically handicapped
category) to undertake independent research in newly emerging and frontier areas of
science and engineering. The scheme is meant to pursue new ideas and provides a platform
to undertake independent research.
The scheme is open to Indian nationals possessing Ph.D. in Basic Science (Life Science,
Physical Science, Chemical Science, Earth & Atmospheric Science, Mathematical Science),
Engineering/Technology, Medicine/Surgery, Dental, Pharmacy, Veterinary Science,
Agricultural Science or Post Graduate Degree in Medicine/Surgery, Dental & Veterinary
Science.

The project proposal completed in all respect may be submitted directly to Science and
Engineering Research Board, 5&5A, Lower Ground Floor, Vasant Square Mall, Sector-B,
Pocket-5, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi- 110070 through proper channel and following the due
procedure, under intimation to the University. For further information the candidates may
please contact the officers dealing with the programme.
