Udisha Coordinators from 25 Innovation Sankuls participated and shared their efforts and
strategies ahead for developing innovation culture at each Innovation Sankul and college

GTU Innovation council brought together all the Innovation club heads/Udisha Club
coordinators , industry chamber authorities from various GIDCs, GCCI, Innovators together at
Gandhi labor institute on 5th may 2012 to discuss and design a roadmap for innovation in
coming academic year . Honorable VC GTU, Prof Akshai Aggrawal chaired the session and
shared his views and inputs to further strengthen the innovation movement at GTU. He briefed
about the progress, achievements and futuristic agenda which will transform the Innovation
Ecosystem at GTU Innovation Sankuls as a unique model in quality and scale. He shared those
efforts done by Udsiha clubs lead by students and faculty members from all the disciplines at
every college. He envisaged that the movement created by GTU Innovation Council and
Techpedia is unique effort made by any university in the world and all the Udsiha clubs have
created path breaking efforts towards that. He highlighted that even polytechnic and other
have shown great innovation capacity during last academic year. Co-chairman Industries,
Gandhinagar Sankul, Mr. Haren Shah shared how Gandhinagar Sankul is modeling towards an
innovation ecosystem by taking various parameters into considerations with the synchronized
efforts of each of its Udsiha clubs. He shared that a benchmarking method based on efforts will
accelerate the innovation drive at each udisha, Sankul level. Secretary General of GCCI, Gujarat
Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Mr. Hingu ensured that their team will help in linking
each Udsiha club to nearby GIDCs and MSME clusters in the state and extend all possible
supports. He appreciated the one of its kind effort made by GTU Innovation Council and all
Udsiha clubs which has created a culture of innovation in the state considering technology
youth as catalyst. Mr Sailesh Patwari , Co-chair Industries , Naroda Innovation Sankul too shared
his ideas and promised all possible support for forging linkages between MSMES, academia
and innovation. He applauded the Udsiha clubs for their front running efforts for linking
students in summer industrial shodh yatra and wished that by active participation of each
Udsiha clubs in an
Innovation Sankul progressive efficiency can be maintained in this
endeavor. Prof P.C.Vasani , Co-chair Academic Morbi Innovation Sankul shared how the udisha
clubs at Morbi Sankul have done transformational innovation by creating a innovation culture

and ensured high success rate in each endeavor .Prof G.D.Acharya , Co-chair Academic,
Bhavnagar innovation Sankul shared how small incentives by mentors have motivated students
at his Sankul to develop innovative products and process even in Polytechnic level. He shared a
thought to incentivize the young innovators in the phase of innovation development so that
they can better design a prototype, concept or add value in existing ones. Both Co-chairs of
Morbi and Bhavnagar Innovation Sankul shared that by joint efforts at Udsiha level their
Sankuls have produced excellent outputs. The Co-chairs from industries and academia from all
Sankuls who shared their efforts claimed that by combined efforts of each Udisha clubs a new
benchmark can be set for innovation at GTU Innovation Council.
A session was held by Deans lead by Prof D.J.Shah and Prof Sachin Parikh for discussing various
policy issues and possibilities to support and further activate the efforts of each Udisha clubs
and shared that the Council of deans will do all possible efforts to galvanize the movement.
Dr.D.J. Shah shared that all the basic protocols which have been designed for Sankuls and
project curricula gives wider fidelity to add on to it so that it can be contextually suitable for
particular college or Sankul. Mr. Hiranmay Mahanta, MD Techpedia.in moderated the whole
day session along with Team GTU Innovation Council. Representatives from I-TAP, Integrated
training and placement cell at GTU shared its action agenda where Udisha can play critical role
and Prof Pavan Dwivedi shared a talk on that. During the whole day FDP various stakeholders
from industries, academia, Sankuls, Deans and I-TAP emphasized that each innovation
club/udisha holds the nerve of this movement and hence appealed a co-creative effort by all to
achieve landmark in this movement.
