For Engineering & Pharmacy Faculties / students of GTU

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
After successful completion of five different Two days Workshop of “Patenting in Engineering” at
different zone of GTU along with one workshop on “Patenting in Pharmaceuticals” during September
2011 to March 2012, so far nearly 1000 faculty members have been trained in the aspect of basics of
Patents and IPR. Simultaneously awareness seminar on IPR was also conducted for engineering students
wherein nearly 1000 students sensitize at different zone for the same.
Then after GTU has successfully organized Two days advanced workshop on “Patent search and
Drafting of Patent Application” on 28th & 29th April 2012 at Ahmedabad, wherein nearly 120 faculty and
students from Engineering and Pharmacy institutes were participated. During this they have completed
the training of Patent search and drafting of provisional application.
Now for the faculty and students, who possess patentable invention in their hand and would like to file
their Provisional Patent application, GTU is planning One day workshop on “Filing of Provisional Patent
Application” on 29th June 2012, Friday at Ahmedabad. On the same day faculty/ student can able to file
their application by their own and if any corrections required in the application, then experts will guide
them for the same.
OBJECTIVES
 To give hands-on-training of Filing Procedures for Patent Application
 To file Provisional Patent Application for the participants.
COURSE CONTENT IN BRIEF
 Demonstration of Patent Filing procedure in India
 Drafting exercise for Provisional Patent Application
 Filing exercise for filing of Patent application
RESOURCE PERSONS
Techno-legal Experts from Industry and Academia from Engineering sector & Pharmacy sector
will be invited and will be announced soon on GTU website.

PARTICIPANT’S ELIGIBILITY

Engineering & Pharmacy Faculty members including students (of UG /PG/ PhD from any
discipline) from GTU affiliated Engineering & Pharmacy colleges.
(Seats are limited for 60 participants only on first come first serve basis)

As this program is meant for filing procedure only, it is highly recommended that
only those faculty / students, who possess patentable invention and completed the
exercise of Patent search and drafting, should attend this workshop.
TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION
Participating faculties have to make necessary arrangement for their travel and accommodation
and TA/DA will not be provided.
REGISTRATION FEE
Registration is Free for Faculties & students affiliated with GTU.
