ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
Under the visionary leadership of Honb. Dr. Akshai K. Aggarwal, Vice chancellor, GTU has
successfully organized more than 53 faculty workshops on various themes viz. “Patenting in
Engineering”, “Patenting in Pharmaceuticals” and “Patent Search Methodology” at different
zone of GTU since September 2011 to till February 2015. In this process nearly 4,600 faculty
members and 3000 students have been trained and make aware about the basics of IPR and
Patent in particular. Due to these efforts, within this time period 301 Patents have been filed by
GTU affiliated college students and faculty of Engineering and Pharmacy discipline.
GTU has introduced “Patent Search & Analysis Report (PSAR)” as a part of syllabus for all
BE (Sem VII) students. As a result of this, now students learnt that whether their IDP/UDP
projects are novel/ patentable or not.
Now in the current BE (Sem VIII), students have to undertake “Patent Drafting Exercise
(PDE)” as a part of their project work. Therefore this workshop is designed, where in all faculty
members will be trained about this new initiative, who have undergone training of PSAR in the
last year. So that they can train the students of their respective colleges. Seven such
workshopswere successfully were already completed till at GTU Chandkhedaand other places in
different zones. Where in more than 600faculties from various institutes have been trained. All
the participated faculty have accepted and appreciated this new initiative of GTU Innovation
Council. In line to this GTU further plans a eight session of FDP on PDE for the faculties who
could notparticipated during first session. This time GTU asks all colleges to send at least one
faculty from each department to get participate in this FDP.

Case study based discussion about how to draft Provisional Patent Application

Techno-legal Experts from Industry and Academia will be invited.
PARTICIPANT’S ELIGIBILITY



Engineering Faculty members from GTU affiliated Engineering colleges.
Preference will be given to those faculty members, who have undergone PSAR training
Seats are limited for100 participants only on first come first serve basis
TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION
Participating faculty have to make necessary arrangement for their travel and accommodation
and TA/DA will not be provided.
REGISTRATION FEE
Registration is Free for Facultiesmembers from GTU affiliated Engineering colleges.
