PATENT DRAFTING EXERCISE (PDE) BE (Sem. VIII) 2014-2015
COLLEGE-WISE COMPLETE LIST OF FACULTY MEMBERS,
who participated in FDPs on Patent Drafting Exercise (PDE) and
who should be able to help the students with advice and guidance.
As a part of BE semester VIII students project work, GTU has introduced “Patent Drafting
Exercise
(PDE)”
since
2013-14.

Under PDE, the students learn about provisional patent filing procedure in India, its
requirements, necessary forms, fees, associated time limit etc. This is in continuation of the
“Patent Search & Analysis Report (PSAR)”, which was prepared by all the students during
semester VII of BE. PSAR was introduced to make students aware about patents, patent
information websites, patent search, patent documents etc. in the area of their final year
project. Appendix 2 on page 30 re-states the objectives of PDE.
HELP FROM FACULTY MEMBERS: To support this activity GTU has organized several Faculty
Development Programs (FDPs). Faculty Members from many engineering colleges participated
in these FDPs. We expect that Final Year BE students will be able to obtain help and guidance
from these Faculty Members about PDE.
To support the PDE activity, GTU had organized several sessions of Faculty development
programs during two years at various locations, through these programs, large number of
faculty have been trained from various colleges. Appendix 1 (Pages 2-30) gives the complied list
of all such faculty members from all colleges who ever had participated in to any of such FDP
sessions. Students can get help for PDE report generation from these trained faculty members.
