Expert Opinion about GTU’S Research week commenced from 18th March 2013 .

GTU organized a research week starting from 18 th March 2013 for all its students from M E and PHD
External examiners from foreign universities and different IIT s along with many other professors from
GTU Affiliated colleges reviewed the projects and presentations made by the students regarding these
projects.Some of their views are as follows:
Prof Arun Somani (IOWA state university ): “50 % projects are at par with US projects .”
Dr Giovanni Zangari (univ of Virginnia): “GTU students are always well prepared.
Young students are dedicated and engaged in research work.”
Dr Teresa Dahlberg(university of North Carolina): “This is a great thing .I am really happy
to come here.Students are dedicated .GTU is working a lot for its students.”
Dr Vinay Dayal (IOWA State University ): “ I am enjoying .The idea of foreign
experts and external examiners reviewing projects is great.”
Dr Ramki Thirumella(university of Denver ): “I am honoured to come here and help
students in their projects.It is good to have external examiners to review students’
projects.The ViceChancellor of GTU Dr Akshai Aggarwal has made good efforts to
improve the quality of the students.”
Dr Gaurav Sharma (univ of Rochester ):”This is a wonderful thing .External review
provides great opportunity for the students to make their projects flawless.”

Dr. Raghu Echempati(University of Florida,Ohio State Univ,USA,visiting
faculty at IIT Gandhinagar):” There are some extremely good quality projects
.They are very high level real industrial projects,students have made good
choices.I am very impressed.”
Dr. Patrick Patterson (Texas Tech University) : “This is a unique idea ,it is
wonderful .Projects are tough ,innovative ,quite different and interesting.All
projects must work and must be patented, so that they can be presented at
international level.I am impressed.”
Dr Deepanakar Choudhary(IIT Bombay): “GTU’S concept is excellent .Some
projects are really challenging ,they must be taken further ahead.They must be
patented ,very good projects must be published in journals.”
Dr .Shiv Shenmugam (NIT Trichy): “This is a very good idea.Such concept is not
available in our institutes, we will insist our institutes to do the same.”
