Preparing New Students for GTU’s Colleges
Short Term Course - GET SET GO
Education is very much an important part of individual’s up-bringing. The present day
education system is continually in the state of reformation so that it encompasses the
industrial demands. Government of Gujarat has come up with a revolutionary measure to
bridge the gap between requirements of educational system and industries, whereby the
specially customized short term courses are prepared that will empower the youth with high
expertise and open up new opportunities.
Gujarat Technological University and the Gujarat Knowledge Society together have decided to
launch a unique programme “GET SET GO” for the students who are aspiring to seek
admission to Degree/Diploma Engineering, Pharmacy and other Disciplines. This programme
would facilitate the candidate to be trained in the foundation courses such as: Advanced
Computer Concepts, Technical Communication, Value Education and Life Skills. The training
would enable the candidates with skills that would empower them with the refreshing and
upgraded understanding to guide them to higher dimensions of knowledge in coming years.
The training will be conducted by the Training Partners of Gujarat Knowledge Society at all
the identified centres of the institutes affiliated to the Gujarat Technological University and
some schools and colleges. The course fee for all the three modules will be Rs.3000/Candidate
and the Course duration for each module is 60 Hrs, i.e. in total 180 Hrs. The minimum batch

size will constitute 30 candidates and the tenure will be one month. The fees will be collected
and deposited in the Axis Bank by the GKS Training Partners, the receipt of which will be
given to the candidate registering for the course.
The GKS training partners will approach the identified affiliated institutes for the registration
and for training of the candidates in these modules. A newspaper advertisement will be given
in Gujarati as well as English Newspapers and the registration will start from 15th April 2013
followed by actual training starting from 22nd April 2013. For this programme, all the
Identified institutes are expected to extend to the GKS Training Partners their well equipped
computer laboratories and classrooms with Audio/Visual facilities and network connectivity
(10:30 to 18:00 Hrs, Every Day for Two Months).
