Industries offer awards worth 25 lac and employment for developing innovative solutions
as per the requirement of the industries/ IDPs .
A college-level Techno Fest “Vijayant-12” was organized at L.E. College, Morbi, on 2nd
and 3rd April, 2012, under the banner of newly established Center for Creativity (CoC). Mr.
Dhirubhai Suvagiya, an Alumni (and faculty in Civil Engineering, in past) of the institute,
Chairman & M.D. at Falcon Pumps, Rajkot was invited as a chief guest at the inauguration
of the event.
Prof. PC Vasani, Principal, briefed Mr. Suvagiya about innovative projects and
practices running round the year at the institute, and the progress observed through
nominations at GTU Gandhian award and other GTU endeavors. Mr. Suvagiya described an
Industry-defined Problem of his own company, Falcon pumps, and invited young inventors
from L.E. College, Morbi to develop a design of pump which would overcome the design
constraints for different parameters for the required output at present, and enhance the
pump efficiency to the requirement of the company, and the head improvement. He invited
innovative minds from the institute to visit his organization. He also offered a huge prize of
Rs. 25, 00,000/- and employment in the company, for developing a solution as per the
requirement of the company.

Students were greatly motivated by such a challenge offered to them, and Prof.
Vasani, Principal, offered necessary facilitations to ensure that students from the institute
take up the project, and showcase their innovative skills. Prof. K.F. Bhetariya, Chairman of
the Center for Creativity encouraged young and budding engineers to prove their worth by

grabbing this golden opportunity. All head of the departments, faculty members and
students remained present during the programme.
