Orientation Program for
‘Designing IPR Activities for the Current Academic Year’

Inviting students from GTU affiliated colleges to join as IPR Fellows
Pre-Final and Final Year students of all fields, if they are interested in Intellectual Property Rights
(IPR) and patenting processes, are welcome.
To increase the awareness about various kinds of intellectual property rights, GTU has been
conducting a massive movement, since September 3, 2011. During 2013-14, GTU had successfully
implemented the PSAR (Patent Search and Analysis Report) generation and PDE (Patent Drafting
Exercise) activities. GTU has organized a large number of FDPs (Faculty Development Programmes)
at various colleges of Gujarat on IPR and patenting. Through these FDPs, more than 1100 faculty
have been trained about different aspects of IPR. The Seminars on IPR and patenting for students by
such faculties at their Colleges have contributed to making GTU as the most IP literate university in
India.
For continuing the IP literacy movement with the new Final Year students, GTU has planned this
Orientation Program of IP Fellows for ‘Designing IP Activities for the Current Academic Year’.
We invite students from GTU affiliated colleges to join this program and to work as IPR
Fellows.

Annexure I
IPR ACTIVITIES for the NEW ACADEMIC YEAR
Identify best technologies of every week by analyzing patents from
Patent Journal by PCT
(Publishes every week and comprises 3000-5000 patent applications across many fields)
All patents are classified in to eight (8) major classes of International Patent Classification (IPC) System
The four team leaders will help us with respect to:
1. They are immediate contact person for each team.
2. They will assign task/divide particular number of patents to each team member
3. They have to be in contact/constant follow up/touch with all team members.
4. Compile files from each team member and prepare compiled specific class presentation
5. Plan for next week work distribution to all team members.
