ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
Under the visionary leadership of Honb. Dr. Akshai K. Aggarwal, Vice chancellor, GTU has
successfully organized various activities for IPR awareness by organizing faculty workshops and
student workshops on various themes viz. “Patenting in Engineering”, “Patenting in
Pharmaceuticals”, “Patent Search Methodology”, “PSAR”, “Patent Clinic” and “PDE” for GTU
affiliated colleges since from September 2011. Due to these efforts, within 3years time period
more than 225 Patents have been filed by GTU affiliated college students and faculty of
Engineering and Pharmacy discipline. The credit goes to the students, faculty and all the stake
holder of research and innovation, who have actively engaged in the promotion of IPR and
innovations.
To promote innovative culture among students in a fun learning way, GTU is organizing
National Level competition of PatenTrack-2014, a two days competition for the students and
faculty who have filed either their provisional or complete patent application with Indian Patent
office. This competition will consist of poster presentation by participated candidates, who will
be judged by panel of experts of respective domain. We invite the young bright minds, who have
filed their patent, studying or working with various colleges of Engineering and Pharmacy across
the country to participate in this said event.
In this event, different industry from various sectors will participate, who are likely in need of
innovative technology. So this event will also provide a platform for “Technology Transfer” too.
OBJECTIVES
 To provide a platform to all patent holder students and or faculty to showcase their
invention
 To bridge the gap between patent applicants and industry who are in need of such
technology
 To provide platform for “Technology Transfer”
 To inspire students to do innovative projects
 To develop a competitive mindset with presentation skills

FLOW OF EVENT IN BRIEF
 Inaugural and Book release on “Module 1: Introduction to IPR and Patents”
 Expert’s session
 Group discussion
 Poster Presentation by participants.
 Certificate, Prize, Award distribution, Q&A and Closing ceremony.
RESOURCE PERSONS
Patent experts from various sectors of industry and academia, law firms and Patent Offices will
be invited.
PARTICIPANT’S ELIGIBILITY



Student OR faculty should either Filed OR Granted patent with either provisional / complete
specification with Indian Patent Office.
Student OR Faculty should be either inventor of the patent OR applicant of the patent.
Student OR faculty from Engineering OR Pharmacy College from across the country can
participate.
TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION
Participating students OR faculty have to make necessary arrangement for their travel and
accommodation. Local accommodation in the University hostel will be arranged upon request.
Charges will be Rs. 300/- per day per person (Twin sharing basis).
REGISTRATION FEE
Registration is FREE for maximum one member (Student / faculty) per patent. Participating
member should be either inventor OR applicant of the patent.
