Late Shri Dewang Mehta IT Awards 2013 for Degree Engineering Students
of Gujarat
The Government of Gujarat decided to honour the son of soil late Shri Dewang Mehta by
Institutionalizing an IT award for the Engineering students of Gujarat. The GR was issued On
26th June 2001 constituting and formalizing Shri Dewang Mehta IT award.
After the huge success of our first event of Dewang Mehta IT Awards which was held on 06th
August 2012, NASSCOM’s Regional Council along with GIL are working on hosting an event
this year on 07th August 2013, The 51st Birth Anniversary of Mr. Dewang Mehta at
Ahmedabad.
The award will be given annually to three Final year students / team of students doing IT or
Computer Science from the Engineering colleges of Gujarat based on the evaluation of the
technical project. Weightage will also be given to the presentation and communication skills
of the student/s. Cash award of Rs.1 Lakh to be given to three students / teams each
(Total sum of 3 Lacs).

• Presentation and Communication skill
Project should be in the format given in guideline & Can be submitted to GTU (Details are
given in guidelines).
This initiative will trigger excitement and competitiveness amongst the students of Gujarat
And will be established as one of the most sought after events in our every academic calendar
year. We request you to communicate the best project of your institute to be presented to the
Jury for their final short listing for the Dewang Mehta IT Awards. The last Date of filing
Project nomination is 15th July, 2013.
