In continuation to the above referred letter the matter of transferring the students of B.E. Marine
Engineering to B.E. Mechanical Engineering branch of SSEC Bhavnagar was under consideration of
university, accordingly the competent authority of university had approved the modalities of transfer as
follows.
The students to be shifted from Marine Engineering to Mechanical Engineering.
Sem 1 to 3
If student has cleared any of the science subject (Physics/Chemistry) in sem 1 and 2, it is to be accepted. If
not, then they have to clear as per rules.
Sem-5
Students entering into sem-5 have to take the two subjects of Mech. Engg. (of Sem-4) at their respective
institute.
Sem-6 to 8
These students are required follow the new approved teaching scheme (Bridge Course) to get the BE in
Mechanical engineering.
The bridge course rules, terms, conditions and modalities of inter transfer from marine to Mechanical
Engineering is exclusively for students of SSEC, Bhavnagar is enclosed herewith as Annexure. The concern
students have to exercise the option. All concerned are hereby informed to take necessary action in this
regards.

Modalities of Transfer of Strdents of B,E, Marine Engineeringof S.S.Engineerrng
College,Bhavnagar as per Approval given by Education Department, vide letter
No. PRCH/I0201UEM -24/SA d^ted 22.05.2012:
(A) For third year aod fourth year students:
As per DGS conditions,the eligibility criteriafor GME courseis the gEduatedegree
in Mechanicalengineering.As per the said educationdepartmentinstructions,in
consultationand approval from GTU, Ahmedabad,the remaining subjects of
MechanicalEngineeringcourseare to be t4ught to the studentsafter successful
completion of B.E. Marine Engineeringcourse work. For the execution and
implementation,it is necessaryto get the approval of GTU rcgarding how to
undertakethis transfef in the benefit of the students.Following may be the
suggestions
to getthe degreeofMechanicalEngineering:

The subjectsof MechanicalEngineeringcoursewhich are not studiedby
Marine Engineedngstudentsare requiredto be studiedthrough a bridge
oourseoiofie year.Optionsarerequiredto be askedfrom the studentsofthird
yearand foudh yearwhethertheyare interested
tojoin this courseor not.
Thosewho opt for only Marine Engineeringcourseshall be awardedthe
degreeof MarineEngineeringby CTU.
Thosewho wish to opt for bridgecourse.shallhavethe following eligibiliry:
(a) Successfulcompletion of third/ foufth year course work of Marine
Engineeringand
(b) Havingbacklogsas per GTU norms(max.4).
Studentswho opt for MechaoicalEngineering,shall have to clear the
backlogs,if any, of Semester-I to lV orly of correspondingsubiectsof
MechanicalEngineering.
Iailure in the bridgecoursesubjectsnot io be considered
as backlogsto move
furtherin bridgecourse.
On successfulcompletionoffte bridgecourseofone yeat the studentshall
be awardedthe degreeof B.E. MechanicalEngineeringinsteadof B.E.
MarineEngineeringby GTU.
The studentsare requiredto fill-in the prescdbedoption form and submit
original mark-sheetsof all examinationsappearedfor previous semesteIs
alongwith o.iginaladmissionrnemoissuedby ACPC.
(B) For first year a d secondyear students:
. The studentsshall be shiftedto MechanicalEngineeringBranch on vacanr
seats of any governmentengineedngcollege as decided by Admission
Committeefor Professional
CoursesAhmedabad.
o (a) The studentsof Marine Engineeringof Scmester-lV and detained
studentsof Semester-Vshall be shifted to Semester-V of Mechanical
Engineering with the condition to clear any number of the backlogsof
conespondingsubjects of Mechanical Engineeringcource of previous
semesters.
(b) The stLdentsare requircdto clearPhysics(110011)of B. E. First Year
and two subjects,namelyMechanicalMeasurement
and Metrology(141901)
and EngineeringThemodynamics (141903) of B. E. Semester-lv of
Mechanical Engineeringbefore completion of Meohanical Engineering

of SemesterJllshallbe shiftedto Semester-m of MechanicalEngineering
with the condition to clear any number of the backlogsof corresponding
subjectsof MechanicalEngineering

(b) The detainedstudentsof Marine Engineeringof Semester-Ishall be shifted
to semesler-f
of Mechanical
Engineering.
(c) The studentsarerequifedto clearPhysics(l10011) ofB. E. First Year.

This arrangement of transfer of branch is exclusively applicable to the
students who were admitted to Marine Engineering course at S.S.
EngineeringCollege,Bhavnagaronly for qhe academicyears 2008-2009,
