There are just a few weeks left to sign up for the earthian program before we close registrations. If
your institute has not registered to be a part of this exciting program, please do so now.
earthian is Wipro’s sustainability program for schools and colleges. Humanity faces a huge challenge in
finding solutions to sustainability issues such as climate change, water scarcity, rapid urbanization,
biodiversity loss, etc. Solutions need to be implemented in a manner that ensures balanced and
inclusive economic growth. This would require an exceptional caliber of leadership from our future
generations. Those in schools and colleges today will be our future policy makers, technocrats,
administrators, and educationists who will lead this change. Hence, the earthian program is designed
with the vision to act as a catalyst for fostering excellence in sustainability thinking and doing amongst
these young people.
2000 institutes across the country registered and over 800 participated in the first edition of earthian.
50 shortlisted institutes were recognized and the best among them invited to the daylong engaging
event. 10 institutes were selected for the multi-year collaboration/engagement program, designed in
close collaboration with institutes and partners.
In 2012, earthian is designed to be more open and inclusive. You and your team are invited to think
about areas or topics that would interest you. There might be something that bothers you or intrigues
you about the environment. Get together and ask some difficult questions to people around you.
Research and find out, think and debate, critique and rethink. Try to make sense out of it all.
You could convey what you think and feel through a script, a story or an essay. It could be a dialogue
between team members each playing different roles in society. It could be through an interactive skit.
You can supplement your submission through a collage, a presentation, or a short video.
This year 20 institutes will be selected. We will discuss issues that are local and global at the same
time.
So, come forward, participate in earthian @2012. If you haven’t signed up yet, do so NOW!
