Subject: Felicitation of Final year Engineering students as toppers in
Communication skills in English
The potential of Gujarat in human resource is yet to be tapped fully by the Indian
corporate. As multi talented human resource is gaining increasing focus and recognition
in the hiring process of companies such as IT, BPO, Engineering, Automobile, Pharma
etc. Gujarat Technological University (GTU) in association with Dewang Mehta
Foundation Trust (DMFT) is organising felicitation of Final year engineering students
who are good in communication skills in English. The event will also provide a platform
to interact with the corporate through mentoring session and job fair for the selected
toppers in communication skills by the colleges affiliated with GTU.
It is here by informed to all the institutes affiliated with the University that the
University has decided to organise Fluent English Speaking Competition for final year
students of Bachelor of Engineering (BE). For this purpose all the affiliated colleges are
requested to send names of 3 students who have excellent English speaking ability. Out
of all the names received, competition will be held to decide the Best English Speaking
Student.
Students will be judged on below given criteria:
 Students voice clarity, loudness and pronunciation
 Student should demonstrate skills necessary to communicate with others
confidently, effectively, precisely and appropriately;
 Student should be able to express themselves creatively and imaginatively
 Student should be able to respond appropriately to the questions and views of
others;
 Student should be able to present and listen to information and ideas
 Student should Speak to communicate clearly and purposefully
 Student should be able to structure and sustain talk; adapting it to different
situations and audiences;
 Student should have the right kind of body language.
 Student should be able to interact with others, shaping meanings through
suggestions, comments and questions and drawing ideas together
All the colleges affiliated with GTU should send the names of students latest by 22nd
March, 2014.
