A National Event for Librarians on “E-Resource Management” by INDEST-AICTE
Consortium at IIM Ahmedabad (18-19th January, 2013)
The 9th Annual Meet & Workshop of INDEST-AICTE Consortium (E-Resources) will be held at Indian
Institute of Management, Ahmedabad during 18-19th January, 2013. As you may already know,
INDEST-AICTE Consortium ( http://paniit.iitd.ac.in/indest/ ) is a major initiative of MHRD, Govt.
of India, and since inception in 2003, it has been playing an important role in providing a access
core e-resources to all IITs, IIMs, NITs, IISERs, other technical and management institutions and
colleges in the country.
This event is organized annually in different parts of the country in association with core member
Institutes and the 9th Annual Meet & Workshop is being jointly organized by IIM Ahmedabad and IIT
Gandhinagar in association with the Consortium (http://www.iimahd.ernet.in/indest/ ). The major
objectives of this meet and workshop are:



To provide a platform to all INDEST members to interact & share their experience.
INDEST-AICTE Consortium to update their members on their activities, development &
future plans.
To provide an opportunity to INDEST-AICTE Consortium members to discuss and deliberate
on emerging trends and technology in libraries.
This event will include, invited talks by eminent speakers, senior library professionals, technology
experts and presentation of state-of-the -art digital products of interest to all librarians.
Senior officials from the consortium and most of the e-resource vendors will also be present to
address the issues. It will be plat form to meet and discuss the issues relating to subscription to eresources
This event is being held for the first time in Gujarat, we would like all technical colleges affiliated
to Gujarat Technical University participate in this important event, discuss the issues, understand
the latest trends in e-resources and technology and contribute for its success.
When most of our libraries are moving towards e-resources, it is all the more important to
participate in such a national event like the one being organised here in Ahmedabad.
